Over 2.5 years, I brought design rigor and systemization to a fast-growing IoT product ecosystem, spanning process, architecture, and brand. The same underlying system ended up scaling three separate times: across products, across brands, and across aesthetic variants.
Establishing Process
I introduced feature briefs and journey mapping as standard practice for the engagement. Stakeholders aligned on purpose and flow before any screens were created, which gave the team a shared foundation rather than reacting screen-by-screen.
Multi-Brand IoT Hub
I rearchitected a single-product mobile app into a multi-brand hub supporting 8+ IoT-connected products, built on a token-based system. Nine months after I rolled off the project, the architecture is still running.
Scaling to a New Product Line
I extended that same architecture to a line of smart showers, scaling from 2 to 4 luxury products across two brands. The mid-tier line later adopted the approach easily. The system was designed to extend past its original scope, and it did.
Token Architecture at Scale
I built the design token structure that let one visual theme scale to 8 distinct aesthetic variants. A developer implemented the full set in just 3–4 hours. Because tokens pushed directly to code, refinements like accessibility and contrast adjustments could be made and verified in real time instead of round-tripping through design files.
Brand System from the Ground Up
Starting from a provided logo, I built out the full brand system: language, tone, visual foundations, and DIY installation instructions carried across the ecosystem.
Three years in, the system is still what new product lines get built onto.
